Thanks. That’s plenty close enough. I’ve been known to drive two hours to fish a ditch in the middle of a cane field for small bass.

No trout that I know of around Athens, you would have to drive 1.5 hours north up to Clayton to be in trout territory – the Chattooga River is worth your time if you head that way.

Those are some beautiful fish. I might be going to visit some family in the Athens area next month and was wondering if you know of any areas near there that allow the public to catch a few trout.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest series of North Georgia posts and am really happy that you guys enjoyed so much success. Clearly you guys have skills and know what you’re doing – inspirational ! I hope to see some of these choice pics soon, and at full res, in a certain private DropBox folder !
